I keep this newspaper article in a frame on my office wall as a reminder of when I first started collecting decorative pieces for the garden. That was 20 years ago, in a different life and with a different surname, but a very similar haircut
The shop didn't last long, mainly because of some rather dangerous tenants upstairs, so I had to put that venture down to experience and move on.
Fast forward 20 years and I still have a love of tracking down something different and weathered and charming for the garden, I still can't resist a farm auction and my garden still looks like Steptoe's yard.

And so The Best Dressed Garden was born, to save me from a hobby that was getting out of control and to share the love of the decorative pieces that add structure, depth and beauty to an outdoor space.

I look forward to sharing my garden finds with you all

The Best Dressed Way
Authentic
Our antique and vintage pieces have lived a life before finding their way to The Best Dressed Garden. Our preference is to keep a piece in it's original authentic condition to show the history and keep the patina. We will always be honest about the condition of each piece and if any renovation work has had to be carried out.
Unusual
We buy what we love, which often means the quirky, the unusual, the eccentric. We source items that bring a smile to your face and a story to tell your friends
Sustainable
Buy better and buy less is our rule of thumb. Cheap mass produced items will end up in the bin very quickly, whereas a good quality vintage item or an individual craft-made piece will stand the test of time and not be contributing to landfill by the end of summer.
